WHO ARE OUR VOLUNTEERS?
The Community Volunteer Scheme consists of Volunteers who are selected for the qualities they have as individuals. They are recruited from serving personnel, dependants, and the expatriate community, many having had previous military service or held relevant professional positions in their previous careers.
The Volunteers work in support of SSAFA Cyprus Health and Social Care ‘Professional’ staff and contribute support as appropriate locally to the British Forces Cyprus service community with identified needs. They consistently demonstrate a full commitment to their roles within the Scheme and all the work they undertake is strictly confidential.
Volunteers are recruited in accordance with established SSAFA Policies and Procedures including the individual qualities sought by the Scheme and within the attributes and capabilities of what the volunteer can offer the Scheme. Volunteers are subject to strict security checks and vetting including a Disclosure and Barring check.
Volunteers receive appropriate training as required by SSAFA together with additional on-going training such as Safeguarding etc.
