THE SSAFA SOCIAL WORK SERVICE SUPPORTS SAFEGUARDING & PROFESSIONAL TRAINING. THIS TRAINING IS DELIVERED ISLAND-WIDE ON A REGULAR BASIS.

Safeguarding of Children Training develops the knowledge, skills and the ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. This includes those who are suffering or at risk of suffering significant harm. Safeguarding Training is available to all professionals who have contact with children. This includes:

  • Childminders
  • Crèche workers
  • Welfare workers

Professional training is offered to support the roles of multi-agency staff who work with children. This includes:

  • Common Assessment Framework (CAF) Training
  • Domestic Abuse Training
  • Documentation and Record Keeping Training
