SSAFA is once again launching its annual search for extraordinary children and young people and are asking parents, teachers, youth workers and everyone else in British Forces Cyprus to get their thinking caps on and consider making a nomination for someone they know aged between 5 – 18 years of age.
The Young Achiever Awards are a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of young people who’ve made an important contribution to their community, as well as those who have given hope and encouragement to others.
So if you know of a young person who deserves recognition for what they have done in the last year, SSAFA wants to hear about it.
This year, the Young Achiever Awards will celebrate young people who have attained great sporting or adventurous achievement, demonstrated acts of bravery or courage, overcome serious illness and/or personal difficulties, been a good neighbour or worked hard to make things better for others, including raising funds for worthwhile causes or someone who has quite simply managed to achieve against the odds.
Every nomination received will be read by a panel of judges and considered for an Award. Nominations are also welcome for children who have left British Forces Cyprus during 2016.
If they should be granted an Award, arrangements will be made for them to receive this at their new address.
Before making your nomination, you will need to obtain the agreement of the nominee and also that of their parents/guardians.
A passport sized photograph of the nominee should be attached to the nomination together with contact details such as email, BFPO postal addresses and phone numbers.
Nomination forms will be available from your local HIVES, Cessac, Welfare Offices, Schools, Medical Centres, Homestart Offices, AFF as well as SSAFA Social Work & Health Visitor Offices.
CLOSING DATE FOR NOMINATION ENTRIES IS FRIDAY 3RD MARCH 2017
