The government has developed a website for the Armed forces families who are stationed overseas to gain access to welfare providers who are specifically there to support the armed forces community. Within the UK Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is becoming increasingly notable amongst migrants who originate from countries that actively practise FGM. It is estimated that there are 137,000 women in the UK that are subject to FGM, compared to and estimated 130 million women and girls affected by FGM according to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
